Today we are going to explain different ways to end a letter or email. It seems a quite easy thing to do at first sight, buy you will be surprised to know how many people simply don't find the way to do it. Apparently these persons suffer from some kind of O.C.D (obsessive compulsive disorder) which prevents them from bringing their writing to an end. If you are one of those, please read carefully.
Nowadays, the rush and pressure of modern live, combined with unhealthy habits and family issues in a sort of 'Molotov cocktail', makes many people develop some weird behaviors that are described like a compulsive pathology (such as washing, checking, ordering); and between them, the one that is our concern: the inability to stop writing.
In order to deal with this problem, you have to focus on what you want to communicate in that letter or email and apply in presenting it in the clearest way. Once you objectively consider that your subject is properly printed in words, you just have to hold your hand and stop writing. As plain and simple as that. It can be hard, at first, but with some training you'll be able to do it. Try to occupy your mind with some other stuff: watch a movie, go out for a walk, call a friend, do some cleaning (but not so much, just the necessary). Maybe, the first times you won't be able to avoid the temptation to go back to your text and write some more lines, but step by step, day after day, you'll finally succeed in refraining yourself from doing it.
If after some months of training you are still unable to stop writing at all, maybe you have to consider seeing a specialist. He or she will be capable of conducting you through all the process. Sometimes medication may be needed, but not always. If so, do not panic, it is just some more approach to deal with your problem.
And remember, frequently all you have to say can be said in a few lines. Recognize when you reach to this point and respect it, just as I am doing right now.
